Decorating in India

n August, 2004, I was invited by the SGPC of the Golden Temple to decorate for the 400th Anniversary of the first installation of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib at the Harimander Sahib in Amritsar, India. The event took place in a pandal in New Amritsar. We created a stage which was 6o feet in length and covered it with a thousand of yards of turquoise satin to represent the water at the Darbar and added gold bangle ornaments simulating the shimmering affect of the reflection of the temple.  A digital photo of the Golden Temple was the backdrop and yellow and orange satin draped the front of the stage matching the beautifully ramalas. A gold Adi Shakti was crowning the top of the stage as a turban pin and on each side of the stage flew five majestic Adi Shakti flags standing as high as 20’ and draped in orange satin. In front of the stage a floral design measuring 120’ in length was created on the ground using millions of flower petals.
